Role Overview
As an AIT Intern, you will be involved in the hands-on aspects of assembly, integration and testing of flight hardware for space missions. Working closely with experienced AIT and engineering teams, you will assist in the production and verification of satellite components, ensuring they meet the stringent requirements for space missions.
What You’ll Be Doing
Your assignment as an AIT intern will be to closely follow procedures for the assembly of mechanical and electrical subsystems, performing secondary tasks and providing support to the AIT team. In the course of your internship, you will also have the chance to train in specific hands-on operations under the supervision of experienced technicians and engineers, acquiring valuable skills. You will mostly work inside a clean room where delicate satellite components will be handled, following strict protocols. As a member to the AIT team you will be contributing to the successful deployment of satellites into orbit by delivering essential flight hardware components.
What we’re looking for:
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Hands-On Experience: Practical skills in mechanical and electrical assembly, gained through academic projects or personal interests.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to closely follow technical instructions and protocols with precision and consistency.
- Technical Background: A foundation in aerospace, mechanical or electrical, engineering provides the necessary understanding to take on more challenging tasks.
- Clear Communication: Effective communication is crucial. You'll be comfortable asking questions when unsure and conveying information clearly. Good command of the English language is essential.
- Proactive Approach: Eagerness to learn and commitment to continuous improvement.
