Position

We are looking for a talented, ambitious, and highly capable Manufacturing Technician to
join our growing composites team and work on a production environment, where cutting-edge
materials are combined with innovative manufacturing processes to result in high performance
composite parts. As part of the composites team, you will support the production’s tasks and
interface not only with your teammates but also with the engineering and materials teams and
external suppliers that support the company’s production. A first-class manufacturing
technician will be someone whose production knowledge and skills result in the manufacturing
of high-quality products.

The position is full time employment contract and is based in Patras, Greece.

Space, Aerospace and Defence markets. Since our foundation in 2012, we have successfully
completed projects for several institutional and industrial clients such as the European Space
Agency and Airbus. Our expertise lies in the design of large deployable structures, the
engineering of composite and nano-enabled materials in applications such as batteries,
hydrogen storage tanks, UAVs airframes, deployable structure subsystems, structural
components and ground support equipment for satellites and launchers.

Responsibilities / Your ‘day to day’

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Perform assigned product manufacturing (incl. most of the composite manufacturing
processes) and assembly tasks with close adherence to internal Standard Operation
Procedures (SOPs) and external regulations.
• Monitor the manufacturing process to ensure that products are being produced to the
required quality standards. This involves inspecting products, taking measurements,
and performing quality control tests.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues that may arise during the manufacturing process.
Judge when to involve senior staff.
• Work under the general guidance of supervision and may receive job assignments
and interface with technical and engineering personnel.
• Read and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications sketches, job orders, planning
documents.
• Keep accurate documentation. Maintain detailed records of production processes,
including equipment settings, product specifications, and quality control data.
• Operate both common workshop machinery and PLC based equipment according to
the manufacturer's and the company’s guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance on manufacturing equipment to keep it in good working
condition.
• Keep up-to-date with the latest manufacturing technologies, processes, and industry
trends and suggest and implement changes to optimize manufacturing processes,
increase efficiency, and reduce waste.
• Manage the inventory by tracking supplies and ensuring that the necessary materials
are readily available for production.

Who we are looking for

A Mechanical Engineer with a Degree from a Technological Educational Institute or a
Graduate combining High School (Technical or Regular) Education with at least 3
years of Work-related Experience.

He or She exhibits:

Good Craftmanship – skilful hands with a Can-Do attitude and proven experience.
Physical dexterity & stamina.
Familiarity with common shop tools – band saws & grinders, disk cutters & sanders,
power-drills etc.
Attention to detail – there are often many steps involved in a process; must be
familiar with the details of each. Must follow SOPs closely.
Good communication skills – Fluent in both English & Greek (written & oral).
• Team Spirit - accepting joint responsibility for team successes and shortcomings but
also capable of working independently.
Good computer skills – PC literate (MS Office).
Passion about making an impact.

Extra points for:
• 2+ years of Work Experience in similar Production Environment (Composite Materials):
Paint Shop, Boats Manufacturing etc.
• Ability to use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) and CAM (Computer-Aided
Manufacturing) software.
• Experience in CNC machining.
• Good knowledge of machining and other manufacturing processes (e.g. welding) for metallic parts and structures.
