Position Overview:

We are seeking a talented and ambitious Senior Mechanical Technician with expertise in Manufacturing Assembly Integration and Testing operations (MAIT) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing aerospace equipment and mechanical ground support equipment for space missions (MGSE). As a member of our Engineering team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the entire development cycle, from defining specifications to equipment commissioning and installation. Your role will require both hands-on expertise and creative problem-solving, as well as a deep understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes. Collaborating closely with Design Engineers, Production Engineers, and external suppliers, you will help deliver equipment that meets the rigorous requirements of spacecraft manufacturers.

This position offers full-time employment and is based in Patras, Greece.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Mechanical Technician at Adamant Composites, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating in the product design cycle by providing input from a design-for-assembly perspective.
  • Coordinating and cooperating with internal and external stakeholders throughout the product development process.
  • Conducting hands-on assembly, integration, and testing of mechanical equipment and machinery for aerospace applications.
  • Overseeing a team of 2-3 technicians on-site.
  • Performing sizing calculations to assist in the selection of electro-mechanical equipment and supporting procurement activities.
  • Communicating with external suppliers and sub-contractors and monitoring their work.
  • Maintaining, organizing, and updating relevant product documentation.
  • Assisting in the preparation of manufacturing and assembly drawings, (both mechanical and electrical), as well as other technical documentation.
  • Supporting testing activities and qualification/certification processes.
  • Mentoring junior technicians.
  • Reporting to the Principal/Executive Engineer and Technical Director. 

Qualifications:

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • 3-5 years of experience in MAIT or Maintenance operations, preferably in the aerospace/defence industry.
  • Technical school diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a relevant field (A 3-year or 5-year degree in a relevant principle will be considering a plus).
  • Proficiency in assembly processes, tolerances fitting, (including shimming), and the use of measuring tools.
  • Understanding of machining and other manufacturing processes, such as welding, for metallic parts and structures.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, SolidWorks).
  • Experience in collaborating with external suppliers and manufacturers, including CNC workshops.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with a focus on error prevention and effective problem-solving.
  • A passionate drive to make a significant impact.
  • Excellent listening skills and patience.
  • Strong teamwork capabilities, including taking joint responsibility for team outcomes and the ability to work independently.
  • Very good command of the English language. 

Extra Points for:

  • Specific experience in the Aerospace and/or Defence industry.
  • Familiarity with composite material structures.
  • Knowledge of Antenna/Satellite TV systems installation.
  • Experience in automatic control systems.
